The Art of Nature

In the past couple of days, the trees around here have finally begun to take on the colors that we expect in autumn: the rust-like oranges, reds, browns and yellows that mark the passage of yet another year and the reminders of our fleeting existence on this Earth. The bittersweet transition to winter is made more palatable by the beauty that surrounds us. Not many trees can outdo the maple, and this year, in the floodlight of my backyard, this lace-leaf Japanese maple reflects light like embers.

I felt compelled to share its beauty with you. Sometimes part of full-spectrum living is in the silent observation of what is around us. May this beautiful image from nature inspire you to see beauty in other things around you each day.
