Halloween, You Say?

OK, so the pyracantha berries and the black cat fit the theme of Autumn and Halloween, but, observe:

petunias still bloom on 31 October 2005,

as does Lantana,

and other petunias,

and lastly, another pansy.

"Whoever uses the term pansy to describe effiminate homosexual men could not offer them a more apt nickname," a landscaper friend of mine once said. She further stated that there are few flowers so hardy that they can live through such extremes of cold.
