The Wages of Hatred

Blessings to Ellen Degeneres for speaking out on the topic of anti-LGBTQ violence. Many in this world would have us believe that it is OK to harass, bully, tease, batter or even murder people who are different from themselves. As Ellen so eloquently states, "We are not second-class citizens." It is time that those who use hate speech understand that the result of their rhetoric can be fatal for the victims and can permanently ruin the lives of the perpetrators and their families. The same goes for ethnic, class-based or religious intolerance. Could we get back to "Live and Let Live"?
