Powerful Editorial from Keith Olbermann

For an alternative viewpoint to my post on how the Democrats have been unable to immediately overcome the Bush grip on the Iraq war, please visit this link to and read or watch Keith Olbermann's editorial. I think his anger is quite well-founded, but I regret that he blames the Democrats when their "mandate" is reduced to a one-vote majority in one House of Congress. Impeachment is the only way to gain instant gratification where Bush and his administration are concerned. Otherwise, we will have to either convert the Republicans in Congress to our side or else wait until the 2008 election to replace them.

For the most part, I do agree with Olberman (who I believe is brave with his opinions) - the only thing that disturbed me here was hearing him call the troops "Doomed". I now have family in Iraq, and a very special friend - I do not want to consider that they are as doomed as Bush has made the Republicans in the 2008 election.
I believe that Bush is not only guilty of Treason (for ignoring the will of the people), but has an agenda which is being furthered by his distraction tactics - as Olberman says - holding his breath until he gets what he wants.

The truth about the vote to support the Iraq budget had little to do with belief, and more to do with spin. In order to not appear to relinquish support of US Troops, congress and the senate needed to pass the bill/budget. Without monetary support, indeed, troops in Iraq are doomed - doomed because they were ill prepared to be there in the first place.
Dick Lugar (R-IN) has now jumped on the bandwagon that has "Get out of Iraq" painted on it. Lugar is a republican, yes, and as such, too conservative (and blinkered) for my tastes, yet here is proof that Bush's own party is abandoning him.

Impeachment might be too tame for the acts of treason that the Bush administration continues to commit in the name of security.
