Tipitina's Foundation to Benefit Rebuilding of New Orleans Musical Culture

I have been meaning to call attention to the work of the Tipitina's Foundation toward the rebuilding of the musical culture of New Orleans. You can read about the program at the link provided, but know that your US tax deductible contributions will be used to purchase instruments, to rebuild lives and to provide relief for the musicians of New Orleans who have contributed so much to American culture.

Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, a New Orlean's area musician, was but one of the people who passed away in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He had been fighting against cancer, but succumbed after being evacuated to Texas. He left a lasting impression on me during a visit to his home in Slidell, LA, in January, 2005, with the crew of 1 Giant Leap. I dedicate this post to him and to his family and friends who so deeply touched my life at that time. Please consider making a contribution to the Tipitina's Foundation today.
