Update
Mom was taken to the hospital in the wee hours of Christmas Eve and has been there since. We finally shared our Christmas yesterday as it wasn't and still isn't clear when she will go home. She has a blood clot and atrial fibrillation along with the complications of being 80 years old. We are hoping for the best.
As a result of this, I am not readily near a computer and my updates will likely be rare over the next few days or more. I hope that Mom will be well soon and that our lives will get back to a more normal rhythm.

i'm so sorry to hear this. i hope she'll recover soon. all the best to her. my thoughts are with you.
Thanks, Nel and Susan...mom is feeling better, but not "out of the woods" yet. We are hoping she will be able to come home by Sunday, but there is no certainty there.
