A Reminder of Summer...Montpellier, France 21 July 2005

Here are a some uplifting photos from this summer in Europe. I particularly loved the textures in the banana leaves and sunflowers, called "tourne-au-sol" or "turns-to-the-sun". The play of shadow through the banana plant leaves is nice and implies the intensity of the sun at that time.
These shots were taken in the garden restaurant at my hotel, located across from the Aqueduct in Montpellier, France.
