December 1--Please wear your Red Ribbons today

December 1 is World AIDS Day. To show your compassion for those living with HIV/AIDS or to remember your loved ones or friends who have lost their struggle with the illness, please remember to wear your Red Ribbon on Thursday. Consider a donation to a charity that supports the AIDS community or volunteer some time. At the very least, talk to your children so that they understand how this is a disease and not a punishment and how they can prevent its spread. Abstinence only programs are one option, but they are not perfect, so please emphasize the use of condoms as an alternative. Also, please, if you are a person of faith, discuss this disease with your fellow church members and emphasize the need for compassion and love, not judgment.
