Another Blast from the 1970's: Desmond Dekker's "The Israelites"

I remember the summer in the early 1970's when this song made it big in the US. My cousin was driving at age 16, so I must have been around 13 when we heard it on his car radio around 1972. It has stuck with me since, and a recent search turned up this video on YouTube and the name of the original album from which it was taken. I am still moved by its infectious ska/reggae beat, a sound I later enjoyed in the music of the English Beat. As always, it is very interesting to see the way the members of the audience in these old clips are dressed and how they move. Enjoy!

Thank you, Desmond Dekker.
