Star Clematis After Heavy Rain
After the heavy rains of Ernesto and the overnight thunderstorms that dropped about an inch of additional rain, everything in my yard is washed clean of the dust of the recent drought. This star clematis vine looks like a snow bank against the backdrop of the wet fence on which it is clinging.
The starlike flowers are individually very delicate, but in masses of blooms make for a brilliant show of white, late summer or early Fall color. Note the pine needles nestled in the spray of flowers which give perspective to the size of these blooms.

It is a shame that blogs can not convey scents of flowers as well. These flowers produce a very sweet, pungent aroma that wafts through the late summer air.

GORGEOUS pictures.
We have morning glory that we're trying to train up our fence posts.
*sigh*
So far, they're going THROUGH the slats, not up the posts. In time, though.
So pretty you can almost smell them!
oooh Ron, I'm so jealous. The rains beat the hell out of my garden and did more damage than good, but you... you got THIS! So pretty!
They're gorgeous, beautiful
photos!
I have them draping over a fence as well, they're lovely.
