AIDS WALK Charlotte 2006

(The following announcement was sent to me by the Regional AIDS Interfaith Council of Charlotte, NC.)

AIDS WALK Charlotte 2006

Many lives. One road. Walk together.

AIDS WALK Charlotte will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Gateway Village Atrium in Uptown Charlotte. The walk begins at 10 a.m. and is a two mile walk through historic Fourth Ward. It is time to get walking!

AIDS WALK Charlotte teams are forming across the region to make a difference and advocate for services and education for our region. We need you!

Registration for AIDS WALK Charlotte 2006 will begin at 8 a.m. with the entertainment and speakers beginning at 9 a.m.

Again, this year you can register online at www.aidswalkcharlotte.org or paper registration materials will be available at the RAIN office in the coming week. You can also pick up materials at one of our AIDS WALK Charlotte Kick-Off events!

GOSPEL EXTRAVAGANZACreative Church International, Inc. - 1430 Allenbrook Drive (Allenbrook Elementary School)6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m.This gospel extravaganza will feature the CCI Choir, Praise Singers and national recording artist Tyronn Wilkins. The concert's goal is to encourage a great, more unified, participation in the fight aganist HIV/AIDS amongst church congregations throughout the city.There is no cost to attend this event.

Saturday, April 1st - AIDS WALK Charlotte 2006 Kick Off Partysponsored by: AmeriCorps National AIDS Fund Team Charlotte, Neighborhood Theatre & RAINDRUMS, DRAG & DRAMANeighborhood Theatre

511 East 36th StreetDoors open at 7 p.m. & festivities begin at 8 p.m . Come help us kick off the 10th Annual AIDS WALK Charlotte with a wild and wacky evening of local entertainment and amusement. Drums, Drag and Drama will be a night filled with the music of Volatile Baby, The Murray Brothers and The Near Misses - and other surprise guests. No kick off is complete without special performances by Ashleigh Jordan and Tia Douglas - you will be surprised who they dragged along. Bring those dancin' feet because All the Right Grooves will be mixin' it up.

Tickets can be purchased by stopping by the Neighborhood Theatre box office, charge by phone or by visiting their website at www.neighborhoodtheatre.com. You can also purchase tickets by calling the RAIN office at 704.372.RAIN (7246) ext. 100 or stopping by the office, which is located at 501 North Tryon Street, 4th Floor (the First United Methodist Church education building).
