Unofficially Spring in North Carolina

It is unofficially springtime in North Carolina, no matter what the calendar might say. The daffodils and the peach trees are in bloom, so the effect of spring is here even if we haven't passed the planetary phase that defines the season.

(Left and below: A spray of daffodils blooms in my backyard garden.)

(Left: A recently pruned Dwarf July Elberta peach tree in bloom. These trees produce small peaches with a distinctly spicy flavor. Greta is visible in the background.)

Greta is such a ham!
The peach blossoms look like cherry or crab apple blossoms. I expected them to be fuzzy or something, like a peach. Silly bunt that I am.
